Doug Barron violates drug policy
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009Doug Baron is the first player on the PGA Tour to violate the performance -enhancing drug policy. As a result he has been suspended for one year. The 40 year old veteran failed his drug test and his suspension is immediate. “I would like to apologize for any negative perception of the tour or its players resulting from my suspension,” Barron said in a statement released by the PGA Tour. “I want my fellow tour members and the fans to know that I did not intend to gain an unfair competitive advantage or enhance my performance while on tour.” We wish Baron luck with all his future endeavors.
