Doug Baron is the first player on the PGA Tour to violate the performance -enhancing drug policy.  As a result he has been suspended for one year.  The 40 year old veteran failed his drug test and his suspension is immediate.   “I would like to apologize for any negative perception of the tour or its players resulting from my suspension,” Barron said in a statement released by the PGA Tour. “I want my fellow tour members and the fans to know that I did not intend to gain an unfair competitive advantage or enhance my performance while on tour.”  We wish Baron luck with all his future endeavors.

Phil Mickelson has returned back to the PGA tour sooner than he expected.  Approximately six weeks ago his wife had surgery due to breast cancer.  This also happened around the same time his mother discovered she had breast cancer.  Their recovery details have not been released but we do know that the circumstances made Mickelson comfortable to come back to work

“We’re in a much better place now than we were,” Mickelson said Wednesday.  “I’m excited about that.  I’m excited about the chance to play a little golf, too.”

We hope that Phil Mickelson has a great tour and his family continues to recovery.

Tiger Woods does it again.  Tiger Woods won the Buick Open for the third time making it his 69^th victory for his career.    Woods shot a 3-under 69 and advanced to a three-shot victory with a 20-under 268 total.  This event took place at Warwick Hills.
