Assane Sene has been suspended for Virginia’s first three games. The reason is for conduct that was detrimental to the team. The school did not say what Sene did to merit the suspension. As a result he will miss the Cavaliers’ season-opener against Longwood on Nov. 13, and games at South Florida and with Rider. What ever the situation was we hope Sene learns from it.

Delonte West was indicted on Tuesday for traffic charges stemming from his Sept. 17 arrest for speeding on a motorcycle and carrying multiple weapons. West is a guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers.  The incident took place in on the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County, Md.  West was riding a motorcycle with two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun.  It’s illegal in Maryland to carry concealed weapons and to transport loaded handguns.

The indictment included two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of carrying a handgun, two counts of transporting a handgun, and one count each of reckless driving and negligent driving.

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has reached an impressive contract extension agreement.  His agent recently confirmed that the contract extension will be worth a staggering $55 million over the next five years.

On Monday night the Los Angeles Clippers announced that Blake Griffin has broken his left kneecap.  This injury could sideline Griffin for up to six weeks.   The No. 1 overall draft pick is known for his outstanding stats averaging 13.7 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.  The injury took place during a game against New Orleans on Friday.   At  Hollywood Collectibles we wish Griffin a fast and successful recovery.

Although they have been doing it and not being penalized for the most part, NBA players will be able to take two steps before they have to stop, shoot or pass.

The rule book had stated that players could take one step. The new rule reads: “A player who receives the ball while he is progressing or upon completion of a dribble, may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball.”

This should even things up and not leave the decision in the hands of the ref’s who have mostly ignored the old rule.

Walt “Clyde” Frazier says the league relaxed traveling standards some time ago to increase scoring.   Higher scores make the games for exciting.
